Your baby’s delicate skin needs special care because it’s about five times thinner than yours and it doesn’t have the natural protective barrier that only develops fully at about one year of life. And because baby’s skin soaks up more of what’s put on it, they’re more prone to irritation and conditions like eczema.
Product ranges formulated with plant-based ingredients that match the oils and amino acids naturally found in babies’ skin are a safer choice than those with nasty chemicals that might cause irritation and might not be such a good option if your baby has a skin allergy. They also provide gentle cleansing, nourishment and protection.
We wanted to tell you about some of the ingredients in our baby products that keep their skin soft and nourished.
Lavender and geranium oil
We put these calming essential oils in our Baby Sleepytime Bath to soothe and relax your baby, help soften their skin and relax baby for bedtime. It also creates a clean fragrance in our baby shampoo, which is gentle on their fine hair and sensitive scalp.
The horopito in our Nappy Balm soothes and protects baby’s skin. Our Nappy Balm is rich in antioxidants, non-greasy and non-staining and can help with nappy rash, cradle cap and other sensitive skin conditions.
Cocoa and shea nut butters
Used in our Baby Moisturiser, these ingredients combine with olive, jojoba and coconut oil to nourish your little one’s skin.
Creamy goat's milk
Goat's milk enriches our Baby Soap and works with essential oils of lavender, wheatgerm and vitamin E to gently cleanse.
But a safe choice for baby isn’t just about what we put in, it’s also about what we leave out. Those things include potentially harmful chemicals sometimes found in baby care products, like propylene glycol, sodium laureth sulphate, mineral oil and synthetic perfumes and dyes.
