Guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride is an organic compound that is a water-soluble quaternary ammonium derivative of guar gum. It is used in shampoo's as a conditioning agent. It is cationic ( positively charged) and works by neutralizing the negative charges on hair strands that cause static and tangling.
