Not to be confused with other more hazardous types of Ammonia, Ammonium Chloride is a relatively benign salt. Derived from minerals and a low hazard for health. Suitable for greywater and septic tanks.
We use Ammonium Chloride as a thickener. Without it our formulations would be too thin making it far too easy to use too much and end up with wasted product. Ammonium Chloride is a naturally occurring salt (similar to ordinary table salt or Sodium Chloride) commonly found in volcanic areas. Commercially, Ammonium Chloride is a by-product of something called the 'Solvay' process which produces Soda Ash. The material we use might not be dug out of a volcano but it might as well be as it is nature identical. Other names for Ammonium Chloride include Sal Ammoniac, Salmiac, Nushadir Salt, Sal Armagnac, Sal Armoniac and Salt Armoniack.
